Neighbors in Need: Part of Next Week’s Offering

Most UCC congregations do indeed take up the Neighbors in Need offering today. You will find information on that offering in an insert. However, to stay with our “Second Sunday” mission emphasis, it will be NEXT week’s offering that will be “split,” with half being kept for local expenses and the other half divided between Our Church’s Wider Mission and Neighbors in Need. Any designations anyone would care to make, today, next week, or whatever, will always be honored.

Emergency Cleanup Buckets

Informal conversations have made it clear that there is interest in assembling some emergency cleanup buckets in cooperation with Church World Service. On the next page is a precise list of what is needed for one bucket. Anyone can make a cash donation, but if you would like to get some items yourself or if you know a good resource for obtaining some of the items, just let us know. Supplies needed for one bucket:
Five gallon bucket with resealable lid
4 scouring pads
7 sponges, including one large
1 scrub brush
18 reusable cleaning towels (e.g. Handi Wipes)
1 50 oz or 2 25 oz bottles of liquid laundry detergent
1 16-28 oz bottle of liquid disinfectant dish soap
1 12-16 oz bottle of household cleaner concentrate
1 package of 48-50 clothespins
2 50 ft. or 1 100 ft. clothesline
5 dust masks
2 pairs heavy duty dishwashing gloves (latex free, non surgical)
1 pair leather or cloth with leather palm work gloves
25-28 heavy duty or contractor type 30-45 gal. trash bags
(on a role, removed from carton)
1 6-9 oz bottle of non-aerosol insect repellent
The estimated cost is $75 per bucket plus $3 shipping fee. How many should we assemble?

Claudia and Wink

Wink returns on Tuesday! This 2015 photo from the last visit also shows an alternate Christmas display. We'll have displays up again in two weeks for Mission Fest.
